Why does Abuelita compare the girls to a phoenix?

After their home was burnt to the ground, Abuelita compared them to the legendary phoenix...... the bird that was reborn from its own ashes. According to Abuelita;

"We are like the phoenix," said Abuelita. "Rising again with a new life ahead of us."

the answer is abelita doesn't live in the cabin so esperanza feels sorry for her mother so she tries to work hard and she doesnt care. They compared her to pheonix because like....... duh idk
