R.C. Sherriff
Robert Cedric Sherriff (pen name R.C. Sherriff) was an English playwright and screenwriter.
Sherriff is best known for his 1928 play Journey's End, which drew on Sheriff's first-hand experience of World War I, in which he served as a captain in the East Surrey Regiment. After the success of Journey's End, Sherriff went on to write several other plays, novels, and screenplays that garnered two BAFTA awards and an Academy Award nomination.
