Five Events that happened in Chapter 4-5

1) Ethan asks for an advance on the lumber and is refused.

2) Ethan is jealous of Denis' courting of Mattie.

3) Mattie serves Ethan dinner..... makes him jealous over another man.

4) The cat breaks Zeena's pickle dish (an heirloom), something Mattie was told never to touch.

5) Ethan hides the accident from his wife in order to protect Mattie.
