how are Dee and her mother different when they talk to white men
how are Dee and her mother different when they talk to white men
Dee is much more confident and assertive when she talks to white men than Mama is. Mama feels self conscious and intimidated when she talks to white men. Dee has spent much of her life in the white world while Mama has spent much of her life isolated from whites. We see t=dynamic reflected through Mama's Johnny Carson daydream.
