how has dee changed when she arrives to see her family

Actually, Dee's attitudes and feelings haven't changed. She is still embarrassed by her mother and sister, she continues to see herself as better than they are...... she's condescending, selfish, and self-absorbed. She has, however, gained a sense of awareness about her family heritage. Unfortunately, this awareness is about things..... displaying things, possessing things.... having "things" not because they mean anything to her, but rather, because they give her a sense of status.
