What observations can you make about the economics, politics, family traditions, arts, religious beliefs, language and food?

Mama and Maggie life a simple life. They have the things they need and little else.... a shack for a home, simple clothing, and household goods passed down through the family, as well as items they made themselves. They grow their own food, dine on pork (likely their own pig), and treasure family heirlooms. Their art can be found in homemade quilts... a family tradition. Mama had a deep faith in God.
