Mama is a sincere woman, who is loving, strong, and even tempered. She has no obvious negative traits in the text.

Maggie is sweet, mild tempered, and loving. Unfortunately, she lacks self-esteem and is extremely self-conscious about scars she received as a result of a fire when she was a child.
