Communication between Grandma and Grandpa?

How could grandpa think that grandma’s eyesight was bad, while they communicated troughs notes. And she wouldn’t been able to read these notes if her eye sight was bad.

In my opinion, Grandma must have glasses.... otherwise, she would definitely have difficulty with both reading and writing.
