Faber's opinion of books is antithetical to that of Beatty. Why? What is that opinion?

Faber loves books: he memorizes them. Faber is willing to risk his life for them. Beatty is actually is conflicted about books. He loves them, he even memorizes them but is conditioned to hate them. His job is to destroy what he secretly loves. This is why he pretty much begs Montag to kill him: he cannot reconcile those two parts of himself.
