Fahrenheit 451
Describe 3 things that she reveals about herself through these words.
We know something about Mildred from her actions and words. She says, "It's fun out in the country. You hit rabbits, sometimes you hit dogs. Go, take the beetle."

Mildred is addicted to her TV parlor. She is a vacuous product of the state. She likes nothing that has intrinsic value and beauty. The wonder of nature affords no beauty to her. The countryside is only a place to inflict violence on animals. We get the disturbing sense that Mildred really isn't joking when she says this quote. Mildred has become a slave to a world that worships material possessions instead of love, literature, beauty and life. Everything is disposable to Mildred including animals.
