The writing style would need a serious analysis to be sure how it contributes to the novel.  However, we can see that his style is relatively simple which would make sense since the characters live relatively regimented, simply lives.  The characters and their dialogue is mostly unexpressive; examples, of course, are seen in Mildred who only mimics what she sees on the interactive TV.  Montag;s captain, Beatty, is actually more expressive, perhaps a way of noting that he has read the very books that he downplays when he describes to Montag the ways in which books are "bad."
