On page 26 Clarisse says to guy, "you always seem shocked." What is he shocked about here?

Montag is shocked at the simplicity and depth in whatever Clarisse says. Her questions to Montag are direct and personal. They require honesty and sincerity that have been absent from Montag's life as well as society as a whole. The implication here is that Montag has been hiding from his truth.
