Montag goes to Faber’s house for advice. Faber advises Montag to head for the river and then the tracks. Apparently there are "old Harvard degrees on the tracks". Basically they are academic hobos that Montag should find. Finally Montag should meet up with him in St. Louis. To get away from the mechanical hound, Faber suggests burning everything that has his scent and turning on the sprinklers. Hopefully the hounds won't have a scent to follow.
