What do the men hope to accomplish (Fahrenheit 451 page 146)?

I don’t understand the question please help!! This is in the third chapter Burning Bright.

In the conclusion, the men walk toward the city hoping to rebuild what has been destroyed.... the approach the city with hope and optimism.
