what is montag's reaction when he hears the jets overhead in the Sieve and the Sand?

Montag gets on edge because he does not like how war could just break out in a couple of seconds because the jets are always flying above. Later in the novel Montag thinks of Mildred, he feels guilty that he doesn't really care what happens to her.
