What role do people play in Montag's society?

The roles people play in Montag's society are largely based upon their occupations and status. Captain Beatty is an enforcer.... his role revolves around power and punishment. Montag enjoys a high status as a result of being a fireman..... as long as he obeys orders. Faber is the intellectual.... he hides in fear, but he also propagates change. Millie and her friends are the mindless result of conditioning.
