While talking to montag, captain beatty makes a reference to Phaeton and his ride in Helio's sun chariot. How does this relate to what Montag Did?

I suppose Montag was trying to do the impossible, he was trying to be like Phaeton and change things. He was rising above the State's godlike power. Beatty, however, states that like Phaeton burning up in Helio's chariot, Montag will succumb to fire as well.
