Who is Guy Montag?

Thirty-year-old, Guy Montag is a fireman. His job is to burn books, which are illegal in his society. In the beginning of the story, Montag embraces his job. Over the course of the novel, however, Montag becomes curious about the past society wants to obliterate. The things he learns turn his heart.... between his interactions with Clarisse, the old woman's murder, and his conversations with Faber, Montag realizes that retaining the knowledge people are working so hard to eliminate is more important than destroying it.
