Icarus is Daedalus' son in Greek Mythlogy. According to myth, Daedalus and Icarus, were imprisoned within King Minos's labyrinth, designed to hold the Minotaur. In order to escape the labyrinth, Daedalus made two sets of wings from wax, wood, and feathers. He then warned Icarus to keep himself a safe distance from the sun, as flying too close would cause the wax on his wings to melt. Icarus, however, ignored his father's advice and did exactly what he was warned not to do. As a result, his wings melted and he plummeted to his death.
