Why do you think montag laughs so much during his exchange with clarisse ? Is she funny?

I don't think Montag's laugh comes from a place of humour rather than a place of astonishment and nervousness. Clarisse talks of philosophical truths that enlighten Montag but frighten him at the same time. Montag has never faced these ideas on an intellectual level. They both excite and scare him.
