Why do you think Mrs. Phelps cries in response to Montag's reading of the poem "Dover Beach"?

Mrs. Phelps has never heard poetry read before...... the poem, its words, and the pure beauty fill her with emotion. Society has conditioned people people to believe that emotion is inappropriate, but even more importantly, its for this very reason that Mrs. Phelps has no explanation for her tears.
