why Montag burn capitan Beatty?

Besides the obvious reason that Montag is incredibly distraught after burning his own home (and books) to the ground, Beatty knocks Montag's radio out of his ear. Upon telling Montag that he will "drop in on his friend," Montag decides to kill him instead.
