Perry dreamt that the VC he killed was with him in his hut, trying as hard as possible to get his rifle to work. In his dream the man was smiling and he was crying, as he knew that the man would then blow off his face, in the same way Perry had blown his face off. He dreamt this dream repeatedly before the squad moved out.
