What was Jeannes physical condition at the camp?

In Chapters Four through Six, Jeanne is continuously sick. At first, she falls ill aftrer being given heavy doses of typhoid immunizations that leave her feverish and vomiting. Later, Jeanne and many others become sick from spoiled food, which leads to stomach issues that are referred to as—"the Manzanar runs" (p. 27).
