In the chapter “87.1%,” Violet asks, “What am I, without the feed?” . Why does Violet ask this? Are people without the feed meaningless in the world of the novel?

Violet asks this because she's lost so many memories..... so much of herself because of the feed. I wouldn't say that those with the feed are meaningless..... I'd simply say they're led. They no longer have a will of their own. Violet is obviously important to other people..... no one can be completely meaningless of they're loved.
