No, I think Troy is too selfish to understand anyone's dreams but his own. Troy belittles or shoots down the dreams of everyone surrounding him, but he refuses to do the same when faced with something that he desires or dreams about. The same goes for his actions and mistakes. He takes everyone else to task but makes excuses for himself. An example of this would be his affair with Alberta.
