IMPORTANT QUESTION RESPOND QUICK!
Why is Troy so uncomfortable having Cory look up to him/wanting his approval?
Why is Troy so uncomfortable having Cory look up to him/wanting his approval?
I'm not sure I understand this question, but I'll give it my best shot. Cory looks up to Troy as the male figure in his life, but Troy actually spends most of his time trying to change Cory into something he's not. Cory wants to spread his wings, make his own choices, become the person he's meant to be, but the spreading of wings is a source of conflict between the two. Cory becomes violent.
Cory depends on violence to institute the changes he wants; he believes that violence is the only way to create meaningful change. This behavior builds a wall between the two that can't be breached, and all in all it serves to change everyone.
