Why do you think the grandmother tells The Misfits that she recognize him? Why does she fail to realize the danger of her remarks?

She does it accidently, simply because she's so surprised. She doesn't at forst realize that she's in danger, but she's an old lady, and she knows how to work him. He ends up talking about his parents......... and what a good job they've done with him. Grandma being nice changes eeverything. Remember, it only takes one person to make a difference.
