Why does Alice come to Charlie? Does she pitty him? Do you think she would be better off off if she were to stay away?

Alice comes to see Charlie because she'd talked to Fay, who said she was worried about him. She does not feel pity for Charlie, she feels sorry for herself.... sorry for the time they didn't have. She wants to spend the time Charlie has left with him.... then she will leave him alone. In my opinion, she's doing what's right for her.
