From what you read in "The Silence" what do you think would have been the best solution to the problem? Why?

Founding brothers.
The silence was about not ackknowledging slavery. It was a sort of "don't ask don't tell" sort of thing. The Founding Fathers tried to ignore slavery. I think they knew that emancipation would come one day but if they just kept quiet, they could keep their big plantations going the way they always did. I think the best solution would have been to deal with it and abolish it right away. Obviously that never happened.
