In context, Victor is incorrect in his assumption, as his first creature would have been far different had he not casr it aside to fend for itself. Victor's monster wasn't "evil", it was loathed, neglected, spurned, and at times.... frightened. Abandonment is what caused the creature to seek revenge and commit murder.
