Examine the how the Monster, Victor, Walton, and Shelley are all desire to be remembered or part of something new, inventive, and original for their time.

At this point in the novel, the Monster is telling his story to Victor, Victor is telling his story to Robert Walton, Walton is telling his story through Mary Shelley, and she is telling her story to us.

I don't think I see the monster wanting to be remembered as innovative or anything for that matter. He merely wants to be loved. Victor wanted to create life. I'm not convinced he wanted a legacy. Walton might have wanted to be remembered as an innovative explorer. Shelly was a story teller. In many ways she eclipsed her husband, Percy Shelley, in popularity.
