At this point in the novel, the Monster is telling his story to Victor, Victor is telling his story to Robert Walton, Walton is telling his story through Mary Shelley, and she is telling her story to us. give me a nice answer, thanks

Hey Alex, I did answer this before. What I found tricky is interpreting your "new, inventive, and original" part of the question. Victor wanted to create life which was new and inventive but I don't think he wanted a legacy. The Monster simply wanted to be loved. Perhaps this is original but I don't think the creature meant it that way. Shelley wrote a great gothic story that will be around for a very long time. Did she want to be remembered? Really, I don't know. Walton might have wanted to be seen as an innovative explorer/ adventurer.
