To include Walton in he book shows that he and victor are very much alike they both have passionate desires and Walton kind of acts as a confessed for victor being that he was he only one that victor ever told his tale to. Robert Walton is essentially the narrator of the novel. He provides a seemingly objective tone and mood to the story.
