I think the Industrial revolution was going on at that time but how does it make the novel politcal?

I found an excellent power point that might help you to answer this question. It actually brings up social issues I had never considered. Thus, it was refreshing and something I'll need to look at closer. None-the-less, I think it will help you immensely.
