What is a literary example of free indirect discourse?
an example you would use that is easily understandable, like you are telling someone who knows nothing about it

Indirect discourse does not follow a speakers exact quotation but rather interprets the meaning through a version from the grammatical inclusion in a larger sentence. An example of this is "He said he was hungry". You will have to scan the text for an example in Frankenstein.
