Walton is an observer very like Frankenstein himself. He is told “You seek for knowledge and wisdom, as I once did." This is a warning....... and the story he's told affects the way he sees the desires of men and the results of their actions. In Victor, Walton found a kindred spirit...... someone who would empathize with his own desires, but from Victor, he also learned an important lesson.
