why does victor refuse o make a female monster do you feel he is justifies in his refusal

Frankenstein resumes his narration at the start of this chapter. Bewildered by the creature's story and enraged by his account of William's death, Victor initially refuses to create a female companion for him. He argues that their "joint wickedness" would be enough to destroy the world.

Whether or not he is justified in this attitude is difficult, but it is easy to make a case for each side. 1. Of course it is a good thing that he should be worried about causing more terror and conflict, therefore he is justified. 2. It is a bad thing that he has created something destined for pain and only pain, so he is not justified.
