GATHERING BLUE SYMBOL

So i got the idea of what the symbol of the singers chains stand for, but what motif or theme does it go with and how is it a great symbol. Sorry for asking for alot, i have to do alot of work on this.

I think the chain represents the motif of bondage in dystopian societies like this. Most people are oppressed in some way by the few in power. Certainly the poverty is another motif that is similar to the chain when juxtaposed with the life of opulence held by the people in power.
