Orwell produces several arguments in favour of shooting the elephant, and several arguments for not shooting it. What are they? Which, according to you, are the most convincing?
For shooting the Elephant- elephant had demolished a hut, overturned a garbage van, killed a cow, and eaten food stalls at the market. The Burmese can't do much about the elephant because they have no weapons.
Against- Elephant was chained. Elephant was a working elephant that was very valuable. He looked like he had calmed down. Personally, I love elephants and the elephant was a valuable worker animal. I would have tried to save it.
