What is your reaction to the events described in "A Hanging" ?

I've always liked this story, and everything Orwell has ever written, because of his view on capital punishment. Orwell points out that capital punishment not only affects the person being punished but the executioner as well. There is a dark and morose feeling around the whole story that makes one feel that nobody wins with capital punishment: justice does not bring any satisfaction.
