A quote showing people don't always have 100% of their honesty, they lose some of it during an action

This is a good quote from Herbert, courtesy of his father, who says that no matter how much cover one puts on, the truth shows through,

"He says, no varnish can hide the grain of the wood; and that the more varnish you put on, the more the grain will express itself." (ch 22)
