Pip feels badly about the way he treated Joe and Biddy. He wishes that he never met Miss. Havisham so he could have still been woking in the forge away from all this gentleman nonsense. Pip laments that he is a bad influence on Herbert. Pip fears he is tuning the sweet disposition of Herbert into a greedy "playboy" like himself.
