I find the song Englishman in New York" a song by Sting, from his 1987 album ...Nothing Like the Sun sort fitting for Pip. The song describes an Englishman with all the manners and gentry of England suffering the culture shock of New York. THe song has a tempo, tone and Lyrics that remind me of Pip pretending to be a gentleman in London and when re-visiting his home. Check out a few lines from the song,
If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say...
Pip finally takes the last line to heart by the end of the story.
