The conflict between Pip and Drummle is an old one..... they both want the same woman, Estella. Sadly, Drummle is exactly the kind of man Estella had been raised to marry..... high class and rich, even if he lacked in true class. Pip thinks Estella should marry him because he loves her, even though he is no longer in the running, his gentlemanly status in question, as a direct result of learning the identity of his benefactor. Estella, incapable of real love, is actually unfazed and unswayed by either of them. Her life has been planned, her character molded, and she knows nothing of choices.
The last part of your question calls for your opinion.
