Discuss the fire at Miss Havisham's home.

Why do you suppose Dickens included this incident in his novel? What symbolic purpose does it serve? Write an essay (or nice paragraph) explaining your thoughts on the symbolism of the fire using examples from the text to support your main idea.

I think the fire at her house is a sort of purging. The house, much like Miss. H, is wasting away. They are both relics with no life force left in them.  I'm sorry, I can't write an essay for you on this short answer forum space.
