Great expectations chapter 3-4

Early in the novel, Pip's expectations are tied up in the fate of the convict. Will he compromise Pip by telling that the boy helped him? Will the convict get away and hurt Pip or his family? Pip's expectations revolve around trouble..... and avoiding it.
