During Pip's first visit he is treated like a servant, there for the pleasure of the people around him and expected to do their bidding. Estella is put off by Pip's station and clothing. She looks down on him with disdain and treats him like he's a disease. Miss. Havisham, on the other hand, intends to use Pip as an amusement, someone to entertain her and to train Estella. Mis. Havisham has ulterior motives.
