Mr. Jaggers counters mr. Wopsle's assumption that the defendant is guilty. Jagger's reminds Wopsle that "a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty" Jaggers suggests that Wopsle could blow the whole case if someone from the tavern was called to court having heard Wopsle's view of the case.
