What aspects of Joe's life inspire Pip's respect?

I think that Joe's generosity and loving nature inspired Pip's respect more than anything else. In Chapter 7, Joe shares his reasons for adopting Pip and for always treating his sister well no matter about anything else. He shares his childhood. That Jow could become the man he is after the beginning he had is inspiring in itself.
